MUSICIAN Francis Lickerish – founding member of '70s cult classic rock band The Enid – will help raise money tomorrow night for Tibetan youngsters living in exile.
Guitarist, lute player and story teller Francis and his band Secret Green will play at the Trades Club, Hebden Bridge, in aid of local fund-raising group Love 4 Tibet.

The cause of Tibet, occupied by China, has been receiving widespread publicity with the start of the Olympic games.

The Love 4 Tibet group, founded by Jodie Underhill, 32, of Cornholme, Todmorden and Richard Dalby, 40, of Warley, Halifax, raises funds to pay for the education, accommodation, food, clothing and care of two Tibetan youngsters. All proceeds from the concert will go directly to the Tibetan Children's Village of Chauntra, in northern India, a refuge for Tibetan children living in exile from their homes and their families.

The Chinese authorities do not allow Tibetan children to be educated as Tibetans. Even their language cannot be used in Chinese-run schools.

Tomorrow's gig will be the third Concert for Tibet at the Trades and is likely to be a sell-out.

The Enid enjoyed an obsessively loyal following, and were often regarded as the most under-rated band of all time.

Francis will be playing some classic Enid material and his own folk music. Support comes from popular local musicians Creedy and Nic Chapman.

The gig starts at 9.30pm and admission is £6.50.
