Following five sell-out seasons in New York, Sydney Opera House and London, multi-award-winning Irish/French chanteuse Camille O'Sullivan comes to the north-west of England next week.
She will be appearing at The Lowry, Salford Quays, Manchester on Sunday with her critically acclaimed, ground-breaking show La Fille du Cirque (8pm).
And she will be taking to the stage at the City Varieties Music Hall, Leeds, on Tuesday (8pm).
P
erforming the work of, among others, Nick Cave, Jacques Brel, David Bowie and Tom Waits, Camille is said to "transform each song she performs into a grippingly theatrical experience, inextricably drawing her audience into a world inhabited by the bizarre and wonderful".
Singer, actress, award-winning architect, painter, TV panellist... Camille O'Sullivan's CV could convince anyone that they should spend their time a little more productively. Born in London to a French mother and Irish father, O'Sullivan grew up in Cork surrounded by the music of the French torch singers – a soundtrack which was her inspiration to become one of Ireland's most unusual artists.
Having studied fine art painting, Camille went on to do a degree in architecture and won the Architectural Association of Ireland Award in 2000. She has appeared in the films Over the Edge, November Afternoon and the Oscar-nominated Mrs Henderson Presents.
