Theatre: Courier reviewer Peter Rawlings said Halifax Thespians' production of Alan Bennett's The Lady in the Van was "unmissable". Watch it at The Playhouse, King Cross Street, Halifax (7.30pm).
Music: The Loungs, The Black Bloc and Spirit of John are in The Doghouse tonight, upstairs at The Royal Oak, Clare Road, Halifax (8.30pm).

Cinema: Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes star in The Duchess (12A) - the story of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, trapped in a loveless marriage. Princess Diana, whose own life mirrored that of the 18th century Duchess in many ways, was a direct descendant of the former Georgiana Spencer. Rex Cinema, Elland (7.45pm).

TV: Another bunch of nobodies and wannabees reach the end of the line in the Big Brother 9 finale (Channel 4, 8pm and 10pm), with £100,000 awaiting the winner. No doubt they will spend it wisely.

Movies: Sean Penn stars in political drama All the King's Men (2005), with Jude Law and Anthony Hopkins (Sky Movies Drama, 10pm).
