Forget The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent – Calderdale people have the opportunity next week to be entertained by young people from West Yorkshire Scouts, who are taking to the stage to show off their talents.
The nationally-recognised Gang Show is taking place at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax from Thursday to Saturday.

Mark Pullen, assistant county commissioner for West Yorkshire Scouts, says: "More than 100 youngsters from across the county have been rehearsing hard over the last 12 weeks to bring together comedy sketches, dance routines, songs and other items to offer the audience a truly professional theatrical experience.

"While the idea of a Gang Show dates back to the early 1930s, creator Ralph Reader would no doubt approve of the changes to keep it fresh and relevant by including the music of Take That, Abba and Christina Aguilera.

"There will be comedy routines from film and television and, while having a great time themselves, they will also be raising awareness and money for the charitable work being undertaken by scouts in Nepal."
