Halifax role for Lenny Henry

COMEDIAN Lenny Henry looks set to join Halifax's Northern Broadsides theatre company for a new production next year.
Before his last stand-up comedy show at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, the comic told the Courier he wanted to be taken seriously as an actor.

And he revealed he had been in talks with Barrie Rutter, artistic director of Northern Broadsides.

Details are due to be revealed on Thursday, when the comedian will give interviews about his forthcoming project, which is being kept under wraps until the briefing.

How can he be a serious actor? I only have to think about him in his comedy sketches and I crack out laughing, just the same as our own Billy Connelly.

Funniest thing he did was Tiswas which is about 27 years ago he wants to start eating the bread and condensed milk again for some inspiration .
