THE weather may be unseasonably chilly but Calderdale residents can enjoy a really cool weekend at the Eureka children's museum in Halifax.
In addition to free beach activities tomorrow and Sunday, 20 tonnes of real snow will descend on the site for tobogganing fun.
And tomorrow evening there's the ultimate cool experience. An enormous outdoor screen will be showing the hit movie Grease, allowing all wannabe Pink Ladies and T-Birds to watch from the comfort of their own cars in true 1950s drive-in style.
The events are part of the grand finale to the July Project, a series of fun events aimed at younger people. But all members of the family can join in. If you live in Calderdale, just take along proof of address to gain free entry to Eureka between 11am and 4pm both days.
Attractions will include fairground fun, street entertainers and the Pulse radio roadshow.
The drive-in movie and fireworks event starts at 8.30pm tomorrow, with tickets costing £6 per car (maximum four people) and £1.50 for people arriving on foot. If the weather is fine, prepare some sandwiches there will be space to enjoy the film while tucking into a picnic.
On Sunday, the People's Park Festival - a multi-cultural celebration of music and the arts takes place at People's Park, Halifax from 12pm to 6pm. Entry is free.
