CINEMA-GOERS planning to see the new Mummy movie at the Rex, Elland, will have to leave home early tonight – and all next week.
The Mummy – Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (12A) was due to play the main evening slot until Thursday but hit film Mamma Mia has been so popular that it has been retained for a fourth week.

"Occasionally we are blessed with a film which exceeds expectations," says the Rex's proprietor Charles Morris. "But the difference we are finding with this one is not simply that a lot of people want to see it, but several are coming back two or three times to see it again. It is attracting all age groups.

"Due to Mamma Mia's popularity we are showing it for the main evening show at 8pm from tonight until Thursday, with another morning show on Thursday. Unfortunately this has meant changing the previously advertised programme and The Mummy will now show at 5.15pm instead.

"We don't like altering our programme but I think more people will be pleased than disappointed that we are making the change."
