A MASSIVE music event tomorrow night will rock the historic Piece Hall in Halifax.
The gig will be headlined by Halifax disco/indie five-piece i.e and other big names on the bill are Calderdale bands The Black Bloc who played at Glastonbury in June – Red Star and Codego.

Highly-rated Leeds band Brasil completes the line-up.

Admission is £7 (£5 concessions) in advance from Maestro Music and the Tourist Information Centre in the Piece Hall or on the door tomorrow night for £10 (£8). Doors open at 7.30pm with the first band on stage at 8pm.

Darran Jackson, lead singer of i.e, said the band was influenced by musicians such as The Killers and Reverend and the Makers.

Earlier this year, i.e reached the UK final of the million dollar unsigned Battle of the Bands competition and in 2006 won London Battle of the Bands. Two of their tracks, Radio and Feel Your Touch, have topped a worldwide/US download chart for unsigned acts.

Tomorrow's event follows a highly successful music mini-festival in Halifax last Saturday.

Stokestock at the Upper George pub, dedicated to the memory of murdered nurse Helen Stokes, featured 22 bands and already organiser Dave Sykes is planning a similar event in August next year. He said: "It went down a storm even thought the taxi strike was on and even the rain couldn't dampen the atmosphere. It was a fantastic day and all the bands were great

"Helen was a great music lover and this was a good way to celebrate her life. Halifax has such a great music scene".

"There are some great bands around and this is a good way to get the bands' names recognised."
