CALDERDALE people will be among the first to sample a Sue Townsend comedy by a brand new theatre company.
Planet Rabbit Productions Ltd's first production – Groping For Words – will be directed by Emmerdale actor Peter Martin. Peter is best known for playing Len Reynolds in Emmerdale, as well as roles in The Royle Family and Brassed Off.

The play centres around an adult literacy class led by Joyce. Her pupils face the frustration and embarrassment of learning to read and write in adulthood.

Complete with nursery classroom and Wendy House, we follow four mismatched people thrust together in one pursuit which is both touching and laugh-out-loud funny, written with sharp wit and delightful humour in true Sue Townsend fashion, (Adrian Mole, The Queen & I).

The play, which has a professional cast, is touring to 17 venues throughout the north during September. It will be staged at Hebden Bridge Little Theatre on Wednesday (tickets from Hebden Bridge visitor centre) and on Wednesday, September 10 at Halifax Playhouse (tickets from Tourist Information at the Piece Hall or from the Playhouse box office).
