The stars of Hull Truck Theatre's Ladies Day are back and they're getting ready for the trip of a lifetime - stopping off at West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds, from Wednesday until Saturday, September 13.
Amanda Whittington's heart-warming comedy Ladies Down Under boasts a winning combination of glitz, glamour and golden beaches and re-unites Jan, Pearl, Shelley and Linda, the four fish-filleting factory girls from Hull who hit the jackpot on an accumulator at Royal Ascot in Ladies Day.

Ladies Down Under, directed by Hull Truck's joint artistic director Gareth Tudor-Price, sees the girls swap their factory hairnets for flight socks and jet off to Oz in search of former factory manager Joe.

From spotting the rich and famous at the Palazzo Versace, to getting back to nature at Ayers Rock, Shelley soon discovers that there is more to life than Burberry luggage and sun-kissed surfers and Linda learns to let go, with the help of a couple of Aussie drag queens and a healthy dose of Kylie Minogue. Amanda Whittington is an acclaimed playwright who has also written for film, television and radio.

Tickets for Ladies Down Under are available by calling the box office on 0113 213 7700.
