ONCE again you have exposed the workshy and mathematically challenged men and women who masquerade as our councillors
("Confused? You will be", Courier, March 19). It makes you wonder if it is actually true that we are making a loss on our town's parking or is it just that our council lacks the ability to add up?
Councillor Amanda Byrne's excuse was that she filled in two months' time sheets at the same time so she must have been confused. Do we want a bunch of confused dyslexics making major decisions about our town?
Those named and shamed should resign from, or be barred from sitting on, any council sub-committee that makes decisions about what to do with the taxpayers' cash until they get their own affairs in order.
Recently we have seen a number of letters in Your say about Calderdale Dart's funding crisis. If I recall Dart is regarded as a value-for-money service provider. Yet our good council says it cannot afford to rewire the premises Dart rents from it.
I would far rather give my share of my council tax to Dart for its rewiring work than for it to be used to pay for some of these incompetent time wasters to feather their own nests while doing nothing for the electors who pay their wages.
