Elland.
I HOPE that your writer, Tony Dawber, his daughter and mother-in-law would find our Rex cinema in Elland to be more the type of cinema he craves for ("No soul in the picture house", Courier, April 26).
He would surely find most of the features he misses at the multiplex cinemas and without having to travel so far for the privilege.

He would receive personal service and be able to buy an ice cream – at normal shop prices – from a tray at the interval. It might be me serving him, rather than a girl, but he can't have everything!
We would not take kindly to him clambering over the seats and throwing stuff at the management, however, but if he is prepared to behave himself he will find a warm welcome.
Charles Morris
(Proprietor, Rex Cinema)
