We are living in a sad time when, despite the bleatings to the contrary, generally those in power never listen or act on the wishes of the people.
The European project may or may not be a good idea, but there is a not-unreasonable perception that it
is little more than a fat barrell that the greedy and powerful want to get their snouts into. The "wishes" of the people will only be acted upon positively when they vote or not be allowed to vote, as the case may be, in the pre-ordained way politicians require.
The mess that is our postal and rubbish collection systems is a result of Europe's interference with our internal affairs.
All in the interests of so-called competition when an uneven playing field is created to make sure, it seems that work is exported abroad, leaving British workers with nothing, like our excellent Kerbside operation.
In relation to the Kerbside collections, a recent letter suggested the collection of rubbish should start at the town hall, then in the Houses of Parliament where MPs have made themselves redundant in deference to Europe.
In the words of a former politician of some integrity, "For God's sake, go!"
