Idiotic obsession with our cars
Bramley Lane, Hipperholme.
Gordon Brown's and Labour's losses were inevitable. All our problems are based on two factors: the banks' greed, and oil and the wretched car.
If people gave up their cars it would solve everything but no matter how high the cost of oil rises they will insist on using the damned things.
According to the papers the cost of energy is expected to rise 25per cent so we will be back in square one, with inflation rising, the bank rate up yet again, mortgages up again and yet another all out panic.
The only problem now is as we try making ethanol or whatever to power the internal combustion engine instead of now going for the all electric car using the power cell technology and hydrogen, we will attempt to grow enough rape seed to get the oil and wheat etc for bread will rise in price, eggs and just about every thing we eat will rise and for what ?
This idiotic obsession with the car and Gordon Brown will be able to do nothing; that's a fact.
