If further proof were needed that Calderdale Council is spineless and two-faced when it comes to its treatment of Kerbside, consider the removal of all references to Kerbside from the council's websites.
This is deliberately misleading and thus d
ishonest.
Calderdale seemed happy to publicise Kerbside when for years it performed a function no one else wanted to take on. Then along comes a big French company that can't be both-ered with such small fry but wants the profit from their activities, and the council's attitude suddenly changes.
What message does all this send out to other small businesses doing work for Calderdale council? I'd suggest something along these lines: "We'll tolerate you only until some bigger company wants to put you out of business. Then we'll give them every assistance by pretending you don't exist".
I recall that on his appointment, chief executive Owen Williams promised to improve the council's image and performance. The shameful treatment of Kerbside alone shows how miserably he's failing. I wonder when he'll resign?
