If further proof were needed that Calderdale Council is spineless and two-faced when it comes to its treatment of Kerbside, consider the removal of all references to Kerbside from the council's websites.

This is deliberately misleading and thus d
ishonest.

Calderdale seemed happy to publicise Kerbside when for years it performed a function no one else wanted to take on. Then along comes a big French company that can't be both-ered with such small fry but wants the profit from their activities, and the council's attitude suddenly changes.

What message does all this send out to other small businesses doing work for Calderdale council? I'd suggest something along these lines: "We'll tolerate you only until some bigger company wants to put you out of business. Then we'll give them every assistance by pretending you don't exist".

I recall that on his appointment, chief executive Owen Williams promised to improve the council's image and performance. The shameful treatment of Kerbside alone shows how miserably he's failing. I wonder when he'll resign?

Spot on Peter with your comments about the brain dead of some Heads Of Department, the last time we had an honourable Chief Executive who wanted to expose those not fit for office, was unceremoniously dumped and bought off by those cowardly Councillors in Office at that time. REMEMBER THE MICHAEL ELLISON debacle this unsavoury, murky and seedy charade is still under secrecy by this present day Council.
Good luck Owen in all that you try,but watch out for the Backstabbers that still walk the Corridors of the Town Hall.

Robin Banks,
I don't bother about the back stabbers; that's a game everyone can play?
It's the jobs for life brigade I demand should be ditched, the figureheads that actually behave and perform like their ship borne counterparts made of wood. The exponents of useless ladder climbing career path mentality.
Their own staff resent their high costing presence.
I assume most of our Councillors of any long service period will know of those I write. It must be sure that they too would like top dogs that can actually control their departments. Currently, as I have stated, anyone meeting this criteria is promptly working to a dead end - they leave when nudged over the edge!
The cushy job brigade continue as before; well paid and safe to sleep while everyone else works?

I see the deleters are still active - a true sign of a lack of moral fibre.
Still, let them have their way, they cannot change my opinions and my point was made and observed.
Such are the weak in our midst?

Michael Ellison was a frequent receiver of my opinions and he always responded well. He suffered as you say, but in a letter to me after he left, he did convey his emotion at the way this brought about. Still, he was better off in all ways, for it could not have been pleasant to work alongside such human trash?

That kerbside has been removed from the council website is minor when compared to what is happenning on the street.
Who's removing their boxes from houses in the one area of Halifax. Vehicle registration on the vehicle being used doesn't exist.
Who responsible?

True, and surely this must be theft? What are the lawmen doing about it?
Just one guess - it's so easy!
