ANOTHER five people stabbed to death in 24 hours – and still this uncaring Government is dithering.

There only is one answer: let the police use their stop-and-search powers.

Anyone found carrying a knife, lock 'em up. No trial, they are guilty. Also ban anyone from wearing hoods.

Now I'll sit and wait for all the letters from human rights people. And, yes, I am a hang 'em and flog 'em supporter.

There is a problem with such a law in that there are professions and situations where you may carry a knife (i.e a chef electrician or even a carpet layer) to enable you to do your trade. The problem with legislating is defining what is a legitimate reason to carry a knife which is why Eddie such a law does not exist at present!

when I was young every boy carried a pen knife and Eddies law is stupid in the extreme!

somebody will say soon cos thats how they think "I blame the parents" look giving some people a pen means they go armed for theft, if we had proper policing the police would know just who to go to when these things happen

as it is we need to rely on super sluth Eddie, the problem might be solved by barring mobile phones from under 18s and baring more than 3 congregating in public,

no one to show off to then.

The police do use thier stop and search powers! but on the wrong kids?? my son has been stoped 5 times for carrying knifes! he is a nvq 2 trainee chef at hudd tech collage. he leaves collage and goes to the bus station to get his bus home but because he is carring a knife roll/wrap(which ever term you wish to use)and normally a big bag with his whites in and he mostly wears a hoody or a black coat he is stopped and searched even after he has prodused his collage card to prove why he is carring knifes!. this is just my opinion and my own personal expriance.

bilabongsback if there was a ban on carring any knifes then there would be no chefs? no chefs no food outlets? and y should they ban all hoodies? how many people accually wear them(young and old a like and from every walk of life)and are doing nothing wrong?. it seems to me that you accually couldnt think of anything worthy to say so you just spouted tripe!! it seems you have still a bit of growing up to do!!.
