Myrtle Drive,
Illingworth, Halifax.
LAST August the waste recycling site at Lee Bridge brought in safety measures whereby you have to reverse your vehicle into a bay, unload your vehicle and then proceed along the green walkways to put your rubbish into the skips.
It is a good safety idea it is if property enforced but unfortunately it is not being enforced.
Recently I saw several vehicles drive in (not reverse) so I went to the office and asked what was going to be done to ensure the vehicles used the site correctly.
The swift answer was: "What can we do about it"? Well, I'll tell them what they can do. They can stop people unloading if they don't obey the rules.

They already have half a dozen people hanging round the site watching people struggling, what they lack is managment and direction.
This would have been an improvement if the green walkway was wide enough for two people with bags to pass each other.
To make matters worse half those who do back in park obstructing the walkway, why isn't there a kerb for these poor drivers to aim for?
A good idea spoiled by a total lack of thought out implementation, typical of the councils inability to put into effect the simplest of ideas.

Steve, stop moaning, I have used that site for the last 25 years, and to my knowledge there have been no reportable accidents, you are beginning to sound like the stupid Health & Safety nanny brigade, who have nothing else to complain about.
