I read your story about Asbos for estates' unruly neighbours.

It's about time these troublemakers were removed from the estates and all housed together in a large field, far away from any houses or neighbours, where the only people they will offend is themselves.

It is awful what the residents have had to go through and nobody should have to put up with this bad behaviour.

These people ruin estates for other law-abiding residents who only wish to live in peace.

(Mrs) Mary McClurg

lets move them all into Ovenden Crescent. then, when they get out of hand, Mary can give them all a stern telling off (via a letter in the letters page - no doubt!)

sounds rather like a version of the Nazi concentration camp you really have to be careful here as what constitutes an antisocial problem is different with different people. I would go the other way and split such families up, place the children in care and possibly restrictions that could involve the ultimate sanction of prison on the adults until they understood what was reasonable way to conduct there lives. The problem is some of these people who have been brought up in feral homes do not understand what the boundaries are - that is a problem society as a whole has to address

I would have got off my backside, got a good education & in turn a good career, this would enable me to live away from undesirables.

Roland Rat Superstar - Being poor does not make you undesirable, as they say some of the nicest people are poor because they refuse to conform to the knife in the back society we live in. In fact some of the biggest thugs I met where when I did my degree where it is the norm to knife each other in the back. My rule of thumb is the higher the level of degree in some subjects areas particularly those with law and business/economics degrees the more likely they are to be "me me me me" backstabbers.

Mary, when the Housing Association drew up the plans for the uber-council estate at Mixenden, it was with the express desire of doing exactly what you propose: putting all the trouble families in one place -and far away from everyone else..

a reshuffle now and then is needed onto a park bench
there should be no obligation to house anybody at all

You have obviously been fortunate enough to never have been homeless then. Lucky you
