I said in my last letter that the political magic roundabout was upon us. Now it really is here.
The children are not props they are children, according to Dour Gordon. Yet he wasn't too shy to pop the dear old wife on first to soften up the audience at the Labour conference. Someone please pass the sick bag! Plus the video of Barack Obama.
Although this was one of Gordon's best speeches, he didn't give us anything to get excited about and failed to mention the excessive borrowing which is going to follow all his supposed giveaways to end child poverty, restore links between pensions and earnings, free nursery school places for all two year olds...the give away goes on.
His soft soaping of all the OAPs, of which I am one, is nothing more than vote-catching propaganda. We pensioners are well looked after and I appreciate that. We enjoy the winter fuel allowance, free bus passes and free TV licences are an added bonus.
As an ex-serviceman and one who has paid all his dues and demands I do not feel under any obligation at receiving these very welcome bonuses; but I do object to the hangers-on and all illegal incomers at that are bleeding the social services dry.
Next week comes the Tory party. We shall just have to wait and see what giveaways are coming our way then, but I don't think Samantha Cameron will be up on stage first.
We will see sound bites of speech that Brown used copying Barack Obama ("this election has never been about me, its about you").
One final point: What was John Prescott handing out prior to Gordon's speech? The supporters were up and down like a venetian blind even before he spoke. It must have been something new for the NHS giveaway.

Oh that's politicians for you.
Seems labour have had a bit of a bounce after their conference, but it's the same old tired party, who have learnt nothing from the antics of how the tories used to be (Ruth Kelly undoing any good Gordon managed).

It's not funny though. Analyse deeply what Brown's been doing over the last few years as chancellor, and it's very worrying.
Imagine - the responsible parents build up a comfortable home - they're the tories. In come labour in 97 - they're the teenagers who put the party on bebo when the parents are away, they have giveaways, they are the popular ones - but can we afford them! Soon the tories will be back, and will be faced with clearing up the mess. Scandalously, some will then blame the responsible boring parents - the tories - for the deep recession, increased taxes, rising unemployment.

Brown and his bunch should never be allowed a sniff of power again after the decimation he's done to the economy

Gordon Brown is universal accepted by political anylists and city experts as being one of the finest chancellors of all time.

Plonkety Plonk from public notice the playground of children cannot be taken seriously.

As for Donald he states in the letter who he is, an oap ex serviceman who gets a great deal of pleasure writing to the papers.

I wish Donald the best.

Gordom Brown is massively underestimated the next general election is wide open, all that's certain is the Liberal Democrats wont do much.

My greatest fear is massive gains for the BNP, from a class of people who have been walked on for 28 years.
those accused of scammers and scroungers, and scum will bite back.
