Smoking ban: Nightmare for those left out in the cold

WHAT is more anti-social than being discriminated against for smoking?

It is not illegal, you know, and it is not obscene and it is not an illegal substance – so why are we treated as if it is, with smokers standing outside hospitals, banks and shops? It is terrible to treat us like this.

I go out for a drink once a week to see friends. It's becoming a nightmare, standing on street corners.

I am not asking for people to sit in a pub while I smoke round them. But for God's sake give us somewhere covered and warm.

I am a high taxpayer. Give us some respect. Stop treating us like lepers.

I knew it wouldnt be long for the whingeing to start once the cold weather kicked in.I think it's hilarious watching them shiver outside because they are too weak to kick the habit.After all those years us non smokers had to put up with your smelly , dangerous habit it sure is nice to see you being inconvenienced i can tell you.

Just typical of the anti smoker who thinks he's got a bit of power now that he/she's kicked elderly people out in the cold for something they ENJOY doing. All this lady wants is a pub or club that caters for smokers, non smokers could also have theirs but no, that would be to kindly for anti smoking facists like Tilez'r'us. But help is at hand. What looks far worse outside pubs are these newly erected 'shanty town' style buildings for the smokers to sit inside, they look awful!

TheBigYinme, if i could give smokers the option of their own, smoking-only, clubs i would do it in an instant. But until that time you're just going to have to put up with what some non-smokers have been putting up with for years -SITTING OUTSIDE. No one is telling you that you can't smoke; all we are asking is that you give some consideration to those of us who choose not to partake in your habit through second-hand smoke. Good luck with your campaign, but if i were to offer any advice, i would strongly suggest you refrain from using the word 'fascist' when referring to anyone who doesn't agree with you. It makes you sound like one of those 'Searchlight' nutters down in Oxford..
