Breck Willows,
Sowerby Bridge.
SO Robin Hood is buried in Brighouse, is he ("Calderdale 'is missing out on the Robin link'", Courier, April 22)?

Ha, that's nothing! King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table are buried in my garden and the Holy Grail I have hidden away in the attic.

It is also a fact that the Ark of the Coven-ant was interred with full religious ceremony under the foundations of Wainhouse Tower.

Robin Hood is a myth; he never existed. The only thing buried on Lady Armytage's estate is her dog!

I dont think so Ken---I am surprised to hear Lady A even had a dog! However, all the nuns of Kirklees and local people who wanted masses saying for them in medieval times, were bruied at Kirklees when it was consecrated ground. What isyour point anyway?

Ken is talking rubbish--anyway I have sent a letter. Whats so hard to believe about RHG--YOU HAVE BEEN WATCHING THAT RUBBISH Robin Hood on telly methinks--you all just show your ignorance of local history of which you should be proud. You people would eb the first lining up for jobs if the grave became famous!

We're talking about a long time ago - but there was a Robin Hood. Not quite as in the Disney cartoon sense mind, it's been exaggerated by the bards, but there is historical evidence.

There however was not as you bring in a King Arthur, well there was and there wasn't. The modern day legend revolves around some books - but the character possibly existed as a celtic tribal leader centuries before the medieval knights era.

Then again, how many people know Halifax and the West Riding used to be part of a Welsh kingdom?
Erm, Twll dîn pob Sais hehe

I suppose Ken thinks the Brontes are all imposters and Haworth a con, and that the people of Nottinhamshire are roping in a fortune on a fantasy.(well the last might be the case as they havent got such good Robin Hood connections as Yorkshire!)Maybe Ken would let Stonehenge fall down as a pile of stupid old stones.
