Lord Stern is advocating yet another crazy idea, that we all stop eating meat because the animals produce too much methane which is damaging the ozone layer.

Last week I went to Colne, and all the windmills were stopped. Thank goodness we don't rely on them to keep the lights on.

The reason for global warming is that the world's population is increasing at an unsustainable rate. It is estimated that the UK population will increase from 60 million to 70 million by 2020.

Obviously, TV has lost its appeal, so I propose we put contraceptives in the water. No doubt the global-warming enthusiasts will consider this to be a crazy idea. But at least it would work.

Coun R. H. Marshall
(Luddenden Foot ward)

Why not start mass euthanasia through the water supply Councillor.

Doesn't seem to have been very effective though. They are still increasing at an amazing pace.

Surely the way to cut down the number of cows to stop the producing methane is to eat more of them not less...

I'm sure I read somewhere that cattle feed has something in it to stop them breaking wind. Sadly that's extra expense for farmers who are in tough times.

I wonder...is it possible to put something in a politicians food to stop them coming up with these ideas. Any suggestions?

The person who invents the catalytic converter for cows will be a very rich man.
