Thugs need God in their lives

Beechwood Close,
Halifax.
THERE is such a lot of unrest in family life these days, children being unruly at school and getting into trouble after school, damaging property, bullying and even injuring others and, even worse, by using knives and guns.
Where is the guidance?
Unfortunately I didn't go to Sunday school when I was young. I know now that I missed out on a lot of fun. I was well into my married life when I decided to go to church, mainly because two of my sons went and had become very
much involved.
At my church we have a very strong Boys' Brigade and Girls' Brigade and they have good leaders and are taught to be good citizens and I can't see any of them going wrong in life with the guidance they get. But one can never tell what life can throw at them, or any of us.
When I was young I used to do errands for neighbours knowing that I would receive a halfpenny; penny or an empty pop bottle to take to the shop. This was selfishness.
As I have got older I have tried to help where I thought help was needed. I have heard of people, Christians and non-Christian, receiving messages from God. This I have never experienced but for the last few months I have felt God guiding me, and it's wonderful.
I advise anyone who is having problems in any way, not knowing which way to turn, to think about turning to God; He will help you, if sincere. As for troublemakers, they need God in their lives and he is so available.

do you not think religion is for the weak? Surely religion is a way of extracting money from weak people in the promise of better things when you die?? discuss!

Where is the guidance? - Agree with the idea of Sunday School teaching what is right and wrong as many children these days when you talk to them just have not got a clue. Sunday school often does not lead to becoming religious when older but the basic ideas of right and wrong I was exposed to all those years ago at the Sunday school I went to have helped me as a mentally ill man to a life in the community where others have failed and become criminals although today I would not step inside a church. That is I learned more than religion at the Sunday school I attended.

Well said bm4260. Not a religious man myself but i agree that there are good lessons to be learned in Sunday School. It's just a shame that those who decried the church haven't come up with a suitable alternative. It's all well and good saying that people should decide their own morals and values, but that doesn't seem to be working too well.

There are already too many thugs with god in their lives, and they like to blow everyone else up to tell us how great god is. Religion is for people who failed science.

Edwin, what's wrong with that?, what's wrong with that is that not too many people have any!
