Greaves Place,
Jagger Green Lane,
Holywell Green.
This morning being Monday, I put out the bottle/paper for collection and watched as the collection wagon drove past up the lane, so I followed and asked as to why it had been left.

I was surprised to be told that we now have 'a one sided wagon' meaning that collections can now only take place from one side and not as the previous contractor who used both sides. I was also informed that the collection would take place on the way back and it was duly collected some time later.

I can only conclude that the new contractors feel that it is more efficient to cover twice the mileage by going up and down the lane rather than straight on to another collection.

So much for efficiency, and not only that but adding to diesel pollution.

Its about that horrid thing safety! the people dont like it for waste collectors in Calderdale ,but loading lorries in the middle of the road is dangerous.

the new contractors apply common sense.

It's not like in Spain where the binmen still hold on to the back of the truck as they go from bin to bin, that's much more efficient in manpower, time and diesel and perfectly safe because of the low speed they go at. Imagine the outrage if they tried to do that in the UK again!
