Will safety get the high jump at London 2012?

I AM sure everyone has enjoyed the Beijing Olympic experience, despite the irresponsibility of the Chinese authorities.
We will see a different Olympics in London 2012.
Correct procedure will be in place to satisfy health and safety directives.
Various sports just cannot take place. Pole vault, no hard hats, no safety ropes. High jump, no ladders, no hats again.
We cannot allow athletes to raise themselves seven feet (sorry 2.4m) without foam suits for protection.
What about sailing? Not a lifeboat carried by anyone, not a distress flare in sight and no navigation lights.
What about rowing? No lifejackets or lifeboats again.
The mind boggles as to the use of such offensive weaponry as the javelin, hammer and shot.
Perhaps the readers could suggest some safer sports to substitute these for the London 2012 Olympics.
