Recently in my role as Deputy Mayor of Hebden Royd Town Council, I attended the annual meeting of Calderdale Citizen's Advice Bureau.
Not only was there a warm and friendly welcome but the evening highlighted the overgrowing need for organisatio
ns such as the CAB.
When taxes, fuel prices and levels of personal debt are rising across the UK, organisations like the CAB are there, at the coal face, helping those who are struggling to make ends meet.
I would advise anyone with debt worries, housing and employment problems, consumer or tax issues to make the CAB their first call and not their last one (01422 842848).
The team of professional friendly volunteers and staff provide confidential advice to people of all backgrounds and if they can't help directly, they will suggest other people or charities to speak to.
On a personal note; when I was made redundant from a job a couple of years ago, I approached Calderdale CAB and they gave me the sound legal advice I needed at the time, for FREE.
Hebden Royd Town Council is proud to support the Citizens Advice Bureau for the invaluable work it does for our communities.
