YOUNGSTERS at Pye Nest Nursery, Halifax, have handed over more than £1,000 to two children’s charities.

It was raised during a week of fund-raising fun including a dance-a-thon and a cake sale to celebrate the nursery’s 15th anniversary and outstanding grading from Ofsted.

The cash was split between the Forget-Me-Not hospice and Children in Need.

Nursery owner Denise Gwizdak said said: “Raising such an incredible amount of money has been a wonderful way to celebrate the nursery’s anniversary and the Ofsted report.

“Everyone at nursery is delighted to be able to support such a worthy cause and to raise so much money is fantastic.”

Richard Mitchell, of the Forget-Me-Not children’s hospice in Huddersfield, said: “This will make a big difference to the children and families we support within the local area.”
