An Elland business has made £10,000 available to local groups in need of a helping hand.
Terberg DTS, who supply specialist vehicles, are welcoming applications for a share of the cash from the community rather than donating the money to charity.
Managing Director Alisdair Couper said: “Instead of us giving money to charities and paying administration charges and what have you, we want to give the money direct to the causes.
“It could be money to pay for a new TV in an old folks’ home, new kits for a football team or a new school mini bus.
“It’s basically an open forum for people who need a little bit of help.
“This is a totally new initiative and we’re looking to do as many things as possible with the money.
“Hopefully other companies might see this and want to make a pledge of their own.”
Applications should be made by the middle of August on 01422 257 100.
