A PERVERT who raped a 13-year-old schoolgirl has been jailed.
Kyle Shepley, 26, of Church Lane, Mytholmroyd, was given an indeterminate sentence for public protection and was told he must serve a minimum of three-and-a-half years before he will be eligible for parole.

He admitted orally raping the teenager.

Bradford Crown Court heard the offence occured on May 12 as the girl walked past Shepley's home.

Heather Gilmore, prosecuting, said between 4pm and 4.30pm, Shepley asked the girl to help him get his cat from underneath his bed.

She eventually went upstairs with him where he made her undress and raped her.

The court heard her ordeal lasted for an hour.

Mrs Gilmore said Shepley told his victim not to tell anyone but when she returned home she told her mother.

Shepley has previous convictions for making sexually explicit phone calls to teachers and indecent exposure.

Alan Taylor, for Shepley, said: "I am not going to stand here and make apologies for what he did to this girl because it is inexcusable – it is unacceptable. He is genuinely remorseful for what he has done."

Judge James Stewart QC put Shepley on the Sex Offender Register for life and made a sexual offences prevention order which bans him from working with children or being alone with them.
