FIFTY FIVE per cent of workers in full-time employment do not feel secure in their job, according to a recent survey.

The survey of 1,000 people was carried out on behalf of Capita HR Solutions to explore the effect of the current economic climate on the UK workforce.

The recession is seen as one of the main factors for job insecurity, with more than one in four actively seeking alternative employment and two-thirds claiming the recession affected their organisation.

Alan Bailey, managing director for Capita HR Solutions, said: “Considering the 32 per cent increase in unemployment over the course of the past three years in the north east, I’m sure that employees here mirror the feelings of the rest of the country and don’t feel secure in their job.
