MORE than 600 new jobs are expected to be created in Elland by the end of next year.
Fast-growing direct marketing company Reactiv Media has relaunched as the Reactiv Group, with nine new brands.
The company was started in 2007 by managing director Tony Abbott and employs 120 at its site in Gas Works Lane, Elland.
He said the strategy was to build around Reactiv Media and split off associated interests. A huge recruitment drive is currently underway in parts of the group and once up and running more jobs will be created in the new year.
“I would like to think by the end of next year we will have 700 to 800 people working on our Elland site,” said Mr Abbott.
“And, another 400 to 500 scattered around the country.”
Mr Abbott said Elland would remain the headquarters and he is working to secure office space in the town and possibly develop the current site.
The new brands consist of Reactiv Digital, Reactiv Apps, Reactiv Mobile, Reactiv Solar, Want A Pay Day Loan, Oakwell Finance, Need A Loan Now and the recently acquired Fat Cat and Millie Bee brands.
Mr Abbot said Reactiv Media would grow by 200 staff, he has recently signed-off a 120-strong recuitment drive for Reactiv Apps; Fat Cat, working in print and promotional design, will bring 30 jobs to Elland and late yesterday he was due to sign off 150 Elland-based jobs for Reactiv Solar, an energy efficiency company offering a range of jobs from sales to installers.
Millie Bee, a skin care and fragrance company, is seeking 520 staff who will be home-workers and 300 will be within a 20-mile radius from the office.
“All the companies refer back to data, marketing, lead generation and we have decided to build our own products,” said Mr Abbott.
Once his management team are pushing ahead with the growth further recruitment drives are expected after Christmas.
“We will be organically funding as we go - that is how I built Reactiv Media - but the investment is there if needed,” he said.
This month has also seen the opening of a London office as the company consolidates its position as a market leader.
Mr Abbott said a strength of the company was that it was innovative and achieved quicker results than competitors.
Reactiv Media’s digital team recently had an iPhone Application accepted by Apple in record time.
The App, for Halifax RLFC where Mr Abbott is a director, came after just 13 days of submitting - ahead of an expected waiting time of up to three months.
It gives fans the latest updates, twitter, blog posts and videos and Mr Abbott said the business had developed a system which would be attractive to smaller businesses and he envisaged Reactive could exploit a gap in the mobile market and create hundreds of Apps every year.
And, his message to Calderdale job hunters was positive.
“There are people out there looking for work and need that chance,” he said.
