While most his age might be pondering retirement, Alan is still holding down two full-time jobs.
He clocks up 40 hours a week at the Nag's Head, Ainley Top, where he has been behind the bar for 42 years.
And he works as a cleaner for Kirklees Council, regularly clocking up another 30 hours.
He spent 28 years in textiles and later worked as a salesman before joining the council in his mid-50s following redundancy.
"I have always had two jobs and nearly all have been full time," said the bachelor, of Sherburn Road, Rastrick.
"It gets me out and I enjoy working. I have met a lot of friends at the Nag's Head."
He believes he is probably the longest- serving barman in Yorkshire and his customers have included a member of the Danish royal family.
Mr Brook also fondly remembers banter with Japanese tourists who would not accept he was not the late TV funnyman Benny Hill.
"A coachload came in about 20 years ago and kept calling me Benny and taking photos," he said.
Mr Brook recently turned 60 but has no plans for retirement.
He wakes at 5am and starts his cleaning job at 6am until early afternoon.
From 5pm to midnight he is at the pub. He has Wednesday and Sunday evenings off but works Sunday afternoon.
"I manage on four or five hours' sleep and I might have a nap for an hour before starting at the pub," said Mr Brook.
Pub workmate Scott Nicholls, 35, of Long Lane, Wheatley, Halifax, said: "He has more energy than the rest of us put together and is a real character and never seems tired."
Deputy manager Samantha Pulham said: "If Alan did not work here a lot of people would miss him. He is a big part of the pub."
And on his Wednesday nights off Mr Brook likes nothing better than a few drinks with friends in the Walker's Arms, Golcar, Huddersfield!
