Artifacts you can drink at the beer museum

A BEER museum displaying interactive exhibitions of Halifax's historic brewing tradition could open in the Piece Hall.
The gallery would stretch across an entire lower side of the building and would be equipped with activities, such as a system where thirsty punters could brew their own ale, memorabilia and its own mini bar.
And it would include a micro-brewery where classic Halifax ales, including Ramsden and Whitaker, were reintroduced to the town.
Joining David Mennell, the former licensee behind the proposals, will be David Budgen, part owner of The Hobbit Inn, Norland, The Fountain Head, Pellon, and The George, King Cross.
Mr Mennell said: "The possibilities are endless."
If the museum was a success in its first six months, it is hoped a special "ale trail" could be set up giving guided tours across some of Calderdale's tourist hotspots via different pubs with each one encouraged to create a "museum room" recreating a period of history.
Mr Mennell said it was still in the early stages but things were progressing well.
Dawn Mitchell, Calderdale Council's Piece Hall manager, said an approach had been made, but discussions were ongoing.
