A BANNED motorist who was caught driving to work has been disqualified again for nine months.
David Baron, 33, of Rishworth Palace, Rishworth Mill Lane, Rishworth, admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance.
He was given a 12-month community order with 80 hours of unpaid work and was ordered to pay £60 prosecution costs.
Calderdale magistrates heard that Baron, a self-employed electrician, was spotted driving his Ford Escort along Skircoat Moor Road, Halifax, at 1.30pm on July 10.
Andy Wills, prosecuting, said checks revealed he had been banned from the roads for 12 months in September last year for drink driving.
When arrested, Baron admitted he knew his disqualification did not end until September 5.
Janice Sain-Reiners, for Baron, said he was originally banned for being only just over the alcohol limit and took a chance this time to get to a job.
She said: "He is sorry for what he had done – it was a one-off."
