PEOPLE are being warned not to be taken in by bogus callers pretending to be staff from Overgate Hospice in Elland.
Louise Danielczuk, from the hospice fundraising team, said: "We have had a report of a woman being contacted by telephone from someone claiming to work for the hospice, attempting to sell adverts for a magazine or newsletter of ours.

"This was not someone who works for us and we are not selling any advertising space for any of our publications.

"This is the first time we have heard of something like this happening but, of course, there could be others we do not know about."

She added: "I urge anyone who is approached, whether by telephone or in person, not to be fooled and to contact us."

Overgate Hospice's fund-raising team can be contacted on 01422 387121.
