A high-profile initiative to deter criminal and yobbish behaviour on Calderdale's transport network is being held tomorrow.
Operation Focus will see police officers travelling on trains and buses and patrolling stations, while providing high-visibility reassurance to passengers and staff.

It is led by British Transport Police and Metro, working with West Yorkshire Police, bus and train operating companies such as Northern Rail, Arriva and First, and the Safer Calderdale Partnership.

The police should be in plain clothes to capture these yobs. It is no good if the police are in uniform as the yobs won't cause trouble until the police get off the train then the yobs start causing trouble.

Another good way to alert these low life to this action would be to email them or even hand everyone a note describing the features of the officers. Maybe they will take the day off. Not everyone reads the courier you know!!!!

This is just unfair and singles out these antisocial louts who are only going about thier unlawful business.

Ban all buses and trains..then no yobs to deal with?

Plain clothed armed officers on trains and buses, and shoot a few of these yobs. Killing one or two would deter the rest and is a small sacrifice for society to pay for good behavior on public transport.
