BIKERS rushed to the aid of a female driver after her car crashed and skidded into a stone wall.
The crash, opposite Big D's Biker Bar, Halifax Road, Todmorden, happened around 3.30pm on Sunday as the woman was turning her Volvo estate into Woodhouse Road.

Her car collided with a black Volkswagen Golf travelling behind in the same direction. Both cars skidding 10ft across the road.

Around 30 bikers, including the gang Satan Slaves, were enjoying the sun outside the bar opposite and sprung quickly into action.

"It made a huge sound and looked pretty nasty and we all just ran across the road as quick as we could to see if she was ok," said one biker who was first on the scene.

"She looked very shocked and upset – her car was a wreck and she was trapped inside.

"We just spoke to her and tried to calm everything down until the fire brigade could get her out.

"She told me she wasn't sure about the bar when it opened but this had changed her mind about us."

Firefighters from Halifax, Illingworth and Todmorden attended. Both drivers were shaken but not injured.

I am suprised no one had yet been prosecuted for putting the lead in such a dangerous place as on a church roof.
It is only a matter of time until someone is injured trying to steal it.
If people insist on having valuable metals etc, they should be left neatly stacked by the gate, where the junkies can pick them up, instead of having to endanger their lives in this fashion.

8, I suspect reason people are having accidents is due to a lack of common sense and good basic driving skills. No public campaign is going to alter that, and as a sad indictment of our society today, we are becoming more and more reliant on committees to do our thinking, for us.I work for an emergency service, and twice last year I have had to move quickly to avoid being struck by motorists driving through an area which was clearly not safe or passable ( I was stood on the pavement at the time).Even after seeing the damage caused to vehicle and occupants, the lady driver then sped away from the scene, before having to stop again after the oil she had driven through affected the handling of her vehicle.
