Bonjour Calderdale! French teenagers from Elland's twin town Riorges travelled to the district for an latest exchange visit.
The 16 teenagers were invited to a civic reception at Halifax Town Hall with the Mayor of Calderdale Conrad Winterburn.
And for one of their first events, pupils from schools across Calder-dale invited their French peers to take part in badminton, table tennis and football tournaments at North Bridge Leisure Centre, Halifax.
During their 10-day stay in the district, the friends also enjoyed a visit to Doncaster Dome, Bradley Wood activity centre in Brighouse, Lightwater Valley, near Ripon, rollerblading at the Halifax YMCA and a farewell barbecue.
Andrew Mattingley, chairman of the Elland Riorges Twin Link Association, said: "They are a really excellent group who gelled well. It has been an excellent visit."
The trip coincided with the 30th anniversary of the Young Person's Exchange.
