A by-election will be held to fill the seat left vacant on Hebden Royd Town Council by the resignation of Stewart Brown.
The former Mayor of Hebden Royd was arrested in April on suspicion of child porn offences and released on bail pending further investigations.
Mr Brown, a town councillor and former Calderdale councillor for 12 years, lived at Nutclough, Hebden Bridge and was suspended from the Labour Party following his arrest.
The by-election for his West End ward seat will be held on Thursday, August 7.
