Carlsberg-Tetley is to close its historic Leeds brewery with the loss of 170 jobs.
The company blamed falling consumption, higher duties and regulatory pressure for the decision to shut the site in 2011.

The brewery - which has been open since 1822 - used to produce only Tetley beer but now also makes Carlsberg. It is one of two beweries owned by the company. The other is in Northampton.

Carlsberg said it will seek to redeploy staff where possible as well as help others find new jobs.
