A BODY found lying in a snicket just yards from a quiet housing estate has shocked residents living nearby.
The body, believed to be that of a young Asian man, was found in woodland off Stocks Lane, Clayton Heights, Queensbury.
Residents who regularly use the woodland, say are shocked by the grisly find made on Sunday night at around 9.30pm.
Police tape still sealed off the scene yesterday with a post-mortem to establish the cause of death expected to take place..
James Feather, who lives nearby with his girlfriend Louise Cooper, said he often sees local gangs hanging around the lane.
He said: "It is all a bit weird having this on your doorstep we were even thinking of taking the kids down there on the night he was found.
"It's quiet here but you do see gangs in really nice cars driving down the lane, there are lots of little entrances and it's very easy to get in and out."
A resident who didn't want to be named said they saw someone walking past the house, up to the wood and back again between 9pm and 10pm on Saturday night.
"He walked into the wood, stood there, seemed to go on his phone and walk back down in the middle of the road, he was an asian lad who looked very agitated and I just thought it was something suspicious.
"You see so many people walking there but he just stood out a bit, usually it's people walking their dogs."
Another resident said: "Police were here most of the night and all of yesterday as well, they were everywhere.
"I'm a bit in shock about it all really."
Detective Inspector Noel Devine, of Bradford South CID, said: "At about 9.30pm on Sunday night the body of a male was found on Stocks Lane in Clayton Heights.
"Inquiries are ongoing into the identification and the circumstances of his death."
