Former Labour councillor Zafar Iqbal-Din, has switched his allegiance to Calderdale Council's Conservative group.
He was elected in Park ward in 2006 and is due for re-election next May.

Earlier this year Coun Iqbal-Din was dropped as a member of the Labour group and became an Independent.

His latest move gives the Conservatives 21 seats, the Liberal Democrats 15 and Labour eight, with five independents, one English Democrat and one British National Party member.

Labour, Independant and now conservative - obviously a man of principles - the main one being safety in numbers! I guess that's the only reason he didn't join the BNP.

A drifter, and why should any party with an ounce of principle accept should an unstable person. In through the front door and straight out of the back. Kick him into touch and leave him there, he'll have lots of company soon.

The Tories never learn, do they?

Got a vote in Council? Sure, we'll have you!

Here's your party card! Enjoy!

Then all the troubles arrive in the baggage.

How about just saying NO to people who are desperate to stay on the gravy train?

This guy makes me laugh. Back in 1999 he actually fought the election as a Conservative candidate! When he was unsuccessful he switched to Labour as they have a strong base in the Park Ward area. Now he seems to have come full circle as he seems to be out of favour with Labour and knows that he doesn't stand a chance of winning next may as an independant. Having switched allegiance so many times, how can he possibly expect to be taken seriously??

he is actually a very good man a little confused but hes cool! the courier did not leave the story unfinifshed actually they told why he was droppped as a labour councillor, the allegations made against him were not true and charges were dropped!! so whats the harm in changing party, he hasnt done anything wrong, even though he cant make his mind up he does his job properly whether hes with conservative, labour or independent so whats your problem?! the rest aint your business!
