THE former general manager of a hotel where a fire claimed the lives of three people has been arrested along with his wife.
Andy Woollam, 42, and his wife Sarah, 36, were arrested in connection with blaze at the Penhallow Hotel in Newquay, Cornwall, which is owned by a Halifax firm.

The couple have been released on bail.

Joan Harper, 80, Peter Hughes, 43, and his mother Monica, 86, all died in the fire last summer.

O&C Holdsworth is a long-established family firm in Halifax and is the parent company of Holdsworth Hotels, which owns the Penhallow Hotel.

Around 90 people escaped from the fire, including Donald and Shirley Sharp, from Northowram, Halifax.

A murder investigation was launched by detectives who said they believed the blaze was started deliberately.

Police have already arrested a 44-year-old man, who is on bail until June 17, and a 21-year-old man, who was bailed to June 10.
