Drinker suffered fatal fall

A MAN died when he fell down the stairs after drinking the equivalent of 10 pints of beer.
Police had to break into the home of Gregory Oakland, 39, of Lane Head Court, Brighouse, after a friend alerted them.
He was found at the bottom of the stairs in a position that blocked his airways.
A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Oakland died of positional asphyxia on November 29.
Coroner Roger Whittaker said at an inquest, held at Halifax town Hall, that it was a tragic accident.
He recorded a verdict of accidental death.
l Pensioner Elsie Clarke, of Lower Edge Road, Rastrick, died from an infection in her gall bladder.
Coroner Roger Whittaker recorded a verdict of natural causes at the 77-year-old's inquest. She died on April 25.
