Driver's shandy shame leads to ban
A motorist has been banned for a year.
Lee Brier, 24, of Edward Street, Sowerby Bridge, admitted drink-driving at Calderdale Magistrates Court.
Andy Wills, prosecuting, said police stopped Brier on Wakefield Road, Halifax, on March 14. He had 52 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Eleese Hatton, for Brier, said he had been drinking shandy at a party.
The offence was out of character, she said.
