Elland Silver Youth Band will compete in the Action Medical Research annual entertainment championship of Great Britain at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, on Sunday.
The band will defend its title and will perform a special piece written by Mr Murray Greig, principal trumpet of Opera North.

An open rehearsal will be held on Saturday at All Saints Church, Savile Road, Elland, at 1 pm. Admission is free.
