THE winners of the hugely popular Courier Child of the Year competition are revealed today.
More than 300 youngsters were snapped by our team of photographers at Asda, Thrum Hall, Halifax.

More than 3,000 votes were cast to find the winners of the three categories.

Taking the 0 to 2-year-old title was 22-month-old Nell Curry.

Proud dad Michael said it was quite a shock to hear they had won. "I'm really excited," said the 29-year-old of Brighouse.

Taking the title in the 3 to 7-year-old section was Zain Iqbal, seven, of Mayfield Terrace South, King Cross, Halifax.

And the winner of the 8-12-year-old category is nine-year-old Louise McNeish, of Keighley Drive, Illingworth.

Her mum, Annette, 34, said it was brilliant news. "I'm so excited," she said. "Louise is jumping up and down with excitement."

As well as the title Child of the Year, each of our three winners receives £200. The largest number of entries was in the 0-2-year-old category, with 202 babies taking part. The competition was sponsored by local business Babyballet.
