Fields flooded and river levels high after downpour

While the heavy rainfall may have caused a number of Calderdale events to be cancelled, the majority of the area has escaped flooding.
The Environment Agency warned residents across the region to brace themselves for a weekend of wet weather. Staff were also checking pumping stations and clearing grates to ensure the excess water can drain away.

On Friday, official flood watch warnings were issued for the River Calder from Brighouse through to Todmorden.
And on Saturday Bridgeholme Cricket Club was better suited to ducks than cricket.

The forecast is for more rain on Sunday.

Yorkshire water will still tell you to save water as it probably is the wrong type of rain and then put the price of water up.
