Singer Nikk Mager may have been rejected by the X-Factor judges but others in the music business are queuing up to make him a star.
Nikk, 24, of Spring Lane, Greetland, has vowed to carry on despite being told to give up his dream by Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.
"I am definitely not giving up, I want to prove Simon and Louis wrong, that will make success all the more sweet," he said.
The comments reduced new judge Cheryl Cole to tears on the ITV1 show aired last Saturday. And Nikk said offers have been flooding in – including the possibility of releasing a single on the same day as this year's X-Factor winner.
He said watching the show was strange: "It was great television from a viewing point of view but it was absolutely gutting for me.
"I don't think I deserved the criticism I got. It was edited. They didn't mention any of the success I had with Phixx after Popstars: The Rivals. The judges just wanted to get a reaction out of Cheryl."
But Nikk, who had a chest infection when he auditioned, said reaction to his appearance had been good.
"I went on GMTV on Monday and sang and the response has been brilliant. I have had lots of offers, it is just a matter of picking the right one."
Offers have been pouring into the Courier for Nikk, who lives with parents Carolyn and Ken.
Gerry Synczyszyn, 58, a composer who used to live in Todmorden, said: "I have a song that I am in the middle of finishing off. When I heard him sing on Saturday I told my wife that he was the one to sing it."
And Garfield Jenkins, of G and G Management in South Wales, wants to sign Nikk up. He already works with former X-Factor finalists Eton Road, Shaun Rogerson and Ashley McKenzie.
He said: "I saw him on TV and I thought he had a nice voice."
