Halifax house fire alert was just a DIY dust storm

Fire crews were called to reports of a house fire - only to find the 'smoke' was actually dust.

The owner of the house, on Salterhebble Hill, Halifax, was ripping down a ceiling. A huge dust cloud billowed out of windows making passers-by think the house was burning down.

Two fire engines from Halifax raced to the scene - but left soon after discovering the reason for the 'smoke'.
